MY WALK (with fallen trees on our track).
My six miles walk today started with the sun trying to peep through.  We made our way up to the Dams in Elan Valley, Mid Wales.  Winding our way up and up the track it was starting to get a bit more cloudy.
When we were almost to the top the wind was reaching almost gale-force with heavy rain and hail stones, and my feet literally left the ground a couple of times.  My daughter was hanging on to me for dear life, with us both laughing away!
After struggling to remain vertical we finally reached the top but then moved to a more sheltered area for our well-earned lunch break.
On the way back down the track to return home we were suddenly brought to a complete stand-still as eight of the Forestry trees had come down across the track.  Someone had called a Forestry worker with just two minutes to spare before he left for home.  If we had gone back home the other way it would have been a sixty miles detour, so we watched and waited for a couple of hours instead.
What a day!

DOLLS FROM UGANDA, SOUTH AFRICA, JORDAN and GERMANY

HAPPY NEW YEAR  to you all!
Today I am listing dolls from UGANDA, SOUTH AFRICA, JORDAN and GERMANY.
For more pictures and more information about the dolls, please see the website.

I particularly like the Ndebele doll from South Africa (but I like them all!).  The first three lots are all hand made dolls, and the little doll from the Rhine region of Germany is quite a character.

More dolls to come (time permitting).

MY WALK JUST AFTER CHRISTMAS.
We had an eight and a half mile walk up to the BACK MIXEN MOUNTAIN in Mid Wales.  It was a dry but bitterly cold day with the temperature being just one degree centigrade.  The ground was very boggy.
The path going up for about a mile and a half, was extremely rough (as can be seen on the first photo) but as always, it was well worth the effort when we got to the top!
